Academy Of Dr. Parviz Sahabi
The idea for the Academy of Dr. Parviz Sahabi was put forward in late 2022 after the physical departure of Dr. Sahabi. Currently, the Academy is at the conceptual stage.
Vision
The vision for the Academy of Dr. Parviz Sahabi is to honour the values Dr. Sahabi championed on the importance of learning and acquiring knowledge.
Vision
To start, the Academy strives towards two main goals.
The first goal is to provide learning opportunities, especially for the next generation with the aim of knowledge sharing and knowledge expansion.
The second goal is to establish and support the Dr. Parviz Sahabi’s Scholarship at the UBC School of Architecture.
All donations and proceedings from the Academy will go towards the scholarship and the fulfillment of the Academy’s goals. At the initial phase, the focus would be on young children and providing language skills, particularly Farsi to preschoolers, and primary school children.
Dr. Parviz Sahabi
Dr. Parviz Sahabi (May 22, 1942 – October 17, 2022) was a scholar, an artist, and a renowned Mathnawai teacher. With more than forty years of experience, as an acknowledged authority, he offered an original systematic framework to study Rumi’s multifaceted masterpiece, the Mathnawi. Zavieh Mystical Study Center was Dr. Sahabi’s vision and under his direction, this non-profit organization was established by his students in 2004. A master teacher, Dr. Sahabi dedicated his life to disseminating knowledge and betterment of his students.
